Well I did it!!!! I made it to my goal weight!!! I was so excited last night I went home and did the moonwalk for my husband lol

I am now down a total of 27.6lbs and 27 inches!!

Now to lose the flab and find my abs haha!!

Scale-with-Tape-Measure-Squeezing-1024x967It’s final weigh and measure day for this segment! I have successfully lost weight every week since the beginning so I am hoping to do the same tonight :) I still have a few more pounds to lose then comes the hard part of trying to maintain this weight. I have never been good at this. Since I was 12, I started gaining weight and then I would lose (break-ups were good for that in teenage years lol) but then I would gain again and more then the last time. After having kids it got harder. Especially with busy kids in sports. We were always on the run and I never prepared for meals. We were always hitting some sort of drive-thru. Now that my kids are older and one hates sports now-haha, and with all the nutritional knowledge I received from Gina and Mallory from Herbalife, I feel better about succeeding.

After working so hard, it is a little deflating seeing where I am in the voting but I am trying not to let it affect me. I have had so many people supporting me and the love I have received from them will hold me over for a lifetime :)

On Saturday, we finally held our fundraiser. We had such a great Team, it was a huge success. Thank you to all our sponsors and everyone who supported us at this event. We raised a huge amount of money for 2 great Charities. Way to go Team Dollars and Sense! (missing Melissa and part of Cheyenne’s face :P)

It’s Voting Day! ..,and sure enough I am super emotional today : (

I have worked really hard to lose this extra weight and maintain a healthy life style. I have been very disciplined with my eating habits and making sure I get proper exercise. I have definitely put in 100% I feel like a completely different person. I am very pound of myself and I am determined to keep it up.

This challenge has certainly taken me out of my comfort zone many times but the more I do the less terrifying it feels. :)

I would love to move on to TOP 5 but I need your help. Vote, vote, Vote (x10) for me :)

Morning good people!

I am still flying high from our meeting last night. I was down another .8 lbs and another 5.25 inches! That’s 24lbs and almost 24 inches lost since I started!!

We got to go to Cleo’s in the mall and learn about how to dress for your body shape. I am apparently a Banana shape or Boy shape that does not sound very “Appeeling” lol but its all good. They found some clothes for  me to try on I could not believe I fit into a size 4 Pant!!! I did not believe the lady when she told me but trying them on -they actually fit!! I can’t even tell you how good that felt, I have never been in a size smaller than 12. Very exciting times! I have been working so hard and it is paying off BIG TIME!


I’m headed back to fit camp again tonight with some awesome friends :) I am so glad they decided to do this with me. My legs have been pretty sore the last few days so tonight should be extra fun :P

No pain no gain, right? ;)

Happy Tuesday!

I made good choices on the weekend!! Yay me :)

Had a fantastic time getting my hair and makeup done for the our Professional Photo Shoot. I cannot wait to see the pictures!! What a treat that was! Kristy at Fusion Hair Design did an amazing job in my hair. I wish I could do that myself. I have tried since and failed. Something I can work on :) It was so nice to sit one on one with Katrina from Arbonne, and get to know her a little better and thanks to Bethany for doing my makeup. Andrew and Arlene at Photo Art by Simpson were so nice. They really made the experience enjoyable and the sneak peek of one picture they let me see was breathtaking.

This week is another busy one, started Fit Camp with Gina from Herbalife Monday/Wednesdays, tonight is final weigh and measure for the papers, we get to go on a fieldtrip to Cleo’s to learn how to dress for our body types, and Saturday is our fundraiser! Exciting times! Looking forward to al of it!

Voting starts Thursday, another nerve-wracking/exciting time! Get your trigger fingers ready :)

Throwing yourself out there like this is not easy but we can’t grow just sitting still. Let yourself shine!

Another week, another 2lbs gone!

I’m feeling pretty good about myself. Still have some work to do but overall feeling fine :P

I went shopping yesterday to find some clothes that fit me because I really have none and for the first time in my life I actually enjoyed shopping. I found some really cute outfits. Hopefully I can wear one to my photo shoot tomorrow :) So excited about that and getting my hair and makeup done. :)

I am having a blast with my Team for The Apprentice Challenge this segment. Our fundraiser is on April 1 at Chances Playtime. A couple of us wrapped up raffle baskets last night and they are awesome. It’s going to be such a fun night!

Tonight I was invited to a friend’s Birthday celebration at Greek Island. Lets hop I make good choices  lol  I see steamed veggies and chicken in my future and no Chicken Cordon Bleu-my absolute favorite.

Happy Friday,

I am down another 3lbs this week. not even sure how. Must be the Herbalife :) I am feeling great. I just need to add more weights into my workout routine to help tone up. I am 6lbs away from my goal weight!! Last time I lost weight through weight watchers, I could not get rid of the last 10lbs. I am so happy with my progress this time. All the knowledge that I have received should help me stay on track instead of falling off. I am determined to make good choices.


Looking forward to our Challenge this Segment “The Apprentice”. We were put into 3 group and we have to come up with our own fundraiser. We are Team Dollars and Sense. Our fundraiser will be held at Chances Playtime (Casino) Abbotsford on April 1st. It’s going to be such a fun night! I can’t wait! The other teams have amazing fundraisers too. I would love to go to them all but it’s just not in my budget :(

Last week we had a sugar challenge. Daily recommendation is only 49g a day… That includes natural sugar.

First lesson…don’t drink wine on a sugar challenge lol

Second… I eat way too much fruit.

This Challenge made me more aware of what I am putting in my body. Not that any of it was bad just that I can make a few different choices.

Well lost another 2lbs! I was totally shocked. Another 10lbs and I’m at my goal weight.

From where I was to where I am now is such a huge difference. I have so much more energy. I am more self aware of my attitude and the way I used to look at things. The Real Me Seminar taught me to not let people rent free space in my head. I spent a lot of energy being angry or annoyed by what other people were doing but its not what they were doing but how I was reacting to it. This is a hard thing to change but I’m working on it.

Since the Amazing Race I feel like I have been so busy.

On our Tuesday meeting we were put into 3 groups for our next challenge. The Apprentice. We get to throw our own fundraiser! I love fundraisers. I used to be VP on the PAC at my children’s school for 5 years so this comes easy to me. I have a great bunch of ladies on my Team too! Very excited for Team Dollars and Sense!

On another note, I am finding losing weight this segment a super challenge. I am still doing everything the same but it’s not falling of me like it was. It’s a little disappointing but I am feeling so much better and have way more energy (which I am going to need for this challenge).  I think it’s time for a workout change at the gym!

Saturday was the Amazing Race and I had a lot of fun!! A few times though maybe divorce was in the future (HAHA) but we pushed through. We ended up having a great time! and ended up coming in 4th! I thought that was pretty good :) Thank you to my awesome Team and thank you to all the sponsors who did this event.


I made it to the next round!  TOP 15 right here :) I am so excited to still be in this challenged. I actually teared up when they called my name. It was so overwhelming.  I was very sad about some of the people that didn’t make it through and I hope they try for the Wildcard. We are all still in this together!

Headed back to the gym tonight. This snow will not stop me! :)

What a busy week last week last week!! With Family Day, Valentines and the Real Me seminar, I did not have a lot of time for the gym but I did do some workouts at home just to get some exercise in.

I learned a lot about myself at the “Real Me” Seminar. I was also made more aware of how awesome and resilient women are. People are so inspiring! Everyone seemed to get so much out of the Seminar. I am glad I was able to go.

This weekend is The Amazing Race, which I am so looking forward to. I think it will be so fun. I have a great Team! Not sure if I am looking forward to the Top 15 announcement. Its going to be emotional. I do hope I will make it on to the next segment. I have worked so hard to get where I am at today and I am determined to not fall back into old habits.

I thought I’d share come of my pictures where I have struggled to maintain a healthy weight. I do not post many of these, for obvious reasons :)

My whole teenager/adult life I have struggled with this. I lose weight, feel great, and then gain it right back. Each time a little bit more than the last time.

I need to stop this cycle. I am trying really hard to make exercise and eating right a permanent part of my life. One month in this challenge is not enough. I need more :)

Wow. The 1st segment is almost over. Feb 25th we compete in the Amazing Race, and only 15 ladies move onto the next segment. It’s a little overwhelming but I am thinking positive and going with flow, for now….we will see how I am that day lol

Tonight we start the Real Me Seminar in Langley. I am super excited to see what this is all about and how it can help me.

Somewhere I have to find time to exercise this week. It’s a super busy week. This is going to be the hardest thing for me when this challenge is over. I am a little lazy and I hope I can still motivate myself to continue to do it. I do have some awesome supportive friends/family so hopefully they will help keep me going :)

What a night at last nights meeting! I am down another 3.4lbs! :)

I am using Herbalife Formula 1 Meal Replacements shakes for Breakfast and Lunch but also having snacks in the morning and afternoon followed by a sensible dinner (mostly Chicken, broccoli and Quinoa or rice) but it’s working for me! I am working out about 4-5 times a week, mostly cardio for now. ( I even snuck in an ice cream sandwich on Saturday-IT WAS SO GOOD! lol)

At last night meeting we also went to Save on Foods with a dietician who taught us a lot of these I was unaware of with food choices and were given a challenge to try a new food in the fruit and veggie section at a least once a month so that should be interesting. I always go for the same things. The dietician showed us Jicama, which is sorta like a potato but tastes somewhat like a pear and you eat it raw, I may try this one first ☺

After Save on, we went to Shoppers Drug Mart and the beautiful ladies there gave one of our challengers a makeup makeover and we all got a little gift bag with some awesome products in it.

Who’s loving this snow?!?!?! I am, I am!! :)

Didn’t make it out to the gym or to Yoga this weekend but I made up for it shoveling snow! HA! It’s just so pretty.

I wanted to thank Parallel Yoga for doing a live Yoga class online on Saturday. It was great to be able to do it at home. Thanks Kara!

Yesterday at the gym, I went on the Elliptical for an hour! 2 weeks ago I could barely stay on it for 15min!

I am down 8lbs and 8 inches so far in this Challenge! Whoohoo! I can feel my energy coming back and I’m even sleeping better!

I have been working hard with choosing healthy snacks verses my usual chips, pretzels or chocolate. I’m exercising everday. Even if its just 10 min routine with my yoga ball.

This Herbalife is amazing. Not having to worry what to eat for breakfast and lunch has helped me from choosing the wrong things.I have also learned what are the right things.

Everyone is different and when you find what works for you, it’s amazing how your body treats you better.

I have never been one to enjoy exercising especially alone but this weekend I found myself going to the gym alone on Friday and Yoga (at Parallel Yoga) on Saturday. Sunday a friend invited me to the gym for 8am! on a Sunday, and guess what? -there I was sitting in the parking lot of Club 16 waiting for the place to open. I never thought that would ever happen. Sundays are usually my do nothing day.

I am slowly changing and I can see it. I am actually enjoying it.

Hi! I’m Amber! Let me tell you a little about myself.

I’m 41 years young.  My partner, Rod and I have been together for 21 years. We have two amazing boys, 13 and 16 years old. We both work full time for great companies.

Most of my life I have struggled with my weight. It’s like a roller coaster. Up and down,  up and down. Since I turned 40, I found I have had no energy or desire to do anything. My favorite time of day was bedtime. Somewhere I lost me and I need to get her back.

I am hoping with this Challenge I will be able to balance my life, mind and body. And rock a bikini! Lol

My husband and children have been very supportive, my friends and family as well. What I didn’t expect is the support from all the other ladies in this Challenge. They are fantastic. It’s like a new sisterhood and I thank each and every one of them.

We can do this!
