Wow, can’t believe that the voting for round 1 ends today!  That 5 weeks flew by!  I really hope I make the Top 15, but if I’m not so fortunate, I am so happy with everything I learned so far.  This past weekend we attended “The Real Me” seminar.  It was very eye-opening and empowering, I’m very glad I got to go to it.

I’m going to be so anxious for the Amazing Race on Saturday when we find out who makes the cut.  I believe even if I don’t I will still have my blog open to continue, so please stick around to read it!!

I want to say a big, huge “Thank you!!!” To everyone who has been voting for me!  I can’t believe the incredible support I’ve been receiving Nation wide!  Makes me feel really special, I don’t want to let them down!!

First round of voting has started today!  Eeeek!!!  I’m so grateful for everyone that has already voted for me and am really hoping they can vote every day.  I may be a bit of an annoyance to absolutely everyone I know until voting ends.  I just reeeeally would like to make the Top 15!  This challenge has been my only “me time” since Kingston was born.  Unless you include grocery shopping or going to the dentist…. in which case the challenge has been my “me time” I look forward to the most!  It’s so nice to attend the weekly meetings and talk to other adults, especially that are women.  If I didn’t have this I would be conversing in a permanent sing-song voice!  (Parents, you know what I mean)

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!  This day last year I found out I was pregnant.  It was the beginning of my weight gain journey.  Although I don’t love that I gained 80 lbs, I would do it again for my happy, healthy son!

Last week I only worked out once.  I ate mostly good but had some slip ups.  I was feeling a bit down, I think it was a combination of hormones, stress, and being over tired.  But this week I’m back on track.  I meal prepped and got back to She’s Fit, so I’m feeling optimistic for this week!

Tonight we are getting our weights and measurements done… crossing my fingers that I’ve gone down.  I think I’ve lost more inches, though, because I was able to zip up a pre-pregnancy jacket yesterday that I couldn’t zip up at all a couple of weeks ago!

I’ve been trying to sleep train Kingston.  So far, not so good.  I’ll keep trying but for now he calls the shots lol!

Due to my constant wakeups through the night I’ve been way too tired to go to She’s Fit in the early mornings.  Also hearing the crazy wind at that time has made my comfy, warm bed a much more attractive place to be.  So, needlesso to say the workouts this week have been lacking.  But, the eating is going great.  Lastnight I made a big pot of homemade butternut squash soup.   I loaded it with vegetables and even threw some chia seeds in there.  Looks like baby food, and kind of tastes like baby food. I didn’t add any salt to it, but it’s still delicious.  I blended it up and put into a juice jug for easier fridge storing and serving.  The jug weighs about 5 lbs!  Will make for a quick and healthy meal option, which is key to staying on track.

Next week the weather should be better so I definitely plan on getting back to She’s Fit, I’m really missing it!

Yesterday’s Challenge meeting was very fun.  We toured around Save-On-Foods with a nutritionist who talked to us about healthy choices while grocery shopping.  I picked up some good tips from her!

We then went to Shoppers Drugmart where Teresa in our group received a makeup makeover from a Stila representative.  I love makeup and watching it be put on, and especially seeing how happy Teresa was with it.  She’s already a natural beauty, but I loved seeing her feeling so pretty!  I wish every woman would feel like that every day, even without makeup.

I finally lost 3 lbs from last week’s weigh in (at which I’d gone 0.2 lbs above my initial weigh in).  Wishing it was more, but I know something is better than nothing!

Looking forward to the “Real Me” seminar we will be attending next week!

I woke up at 5am to go to She’s Fit, but when I looked out the window at the blizzard I decided I didn’t want to drive in it. But, I didn’t let the dreary weather ruin my workout! Even though I really wanted to crawl back into bed I went into my cold garage and jumped on the treadmill for an hour! Burned over 300 calories before 6:30am! My reward, like every morning, was my delicious Cookies and Cream Herbalife shake… it’s seriously my motivation to get out of bed to workout.

I’ve been feeling way more energetic these days from the workouts, Herbalife shakes & multi vitamins and eating healthy.  It helps a lot since Kingston has started his 4 month sleep regression, which means this momma wakes up every hour or two through the night.

Hopefully this weather clears up soon because I’m missing She’s Fit, but until then my cold, lonely garage will have to do!

Lastnight we did our third weigh in and apparently I’ve gained back the weight from last week.  My inches are down, though, so I’m not letting myself be discouraged! I’ve been going to the gym 3 times a week and sticking to my healthy eating.  I’m hoping the gain is muscle and not fat…. I need to remember that I’m still nursing and that can throw things off.

I can’t express how amazing the top 30 ladies are.  It really warms my heart to see and hear them being so supportive of one another.  I myself am not much of a talker, I’d rather listen, but in my head I’m constantly pointing out to myself all of their wonderful attributes and really rooting for each one of them.  Quite honestly, if I don’t make it past the first round of voting I will still feel like a winner just by getting to experience what we’ve done so far.

I’m hoping to make it to some yoga classes soon, but Kingston is still fussy with bottles, although he drinks more from the new one it’s still a struggle for his dad.  I feel terrible when I have to leave them.  I manage to go to the gym at 5:30am because Kingston will still be sleeping at that time.  Anymore than than that and I feel guilty.  Mom guilt is no joke you guys!  Just need to do the best I can with what I’ve got and keep optimistic!

We are well into week two now and so far so good!  I was a bit disappointed with my 1.8 lb loss for the first week, but I am not going to let it get me down.  I have been going to the gym a few times a week at 5:30am with my new pal June who I met in the group.  It is so much better to workout with someone else, it makes it fun and provides more motivation to get up that early and go to the gym.

My biggest challenge so far is getting time to get things done.  My three month old son Kingston is such a momma’s boy.  He does not like me to put him down for more than 15 minutes at a time and he has not been taking any bottles, so he takes a huge majority of my time and attention.  I just got a new bottle (have been going through many different brands) that I have high hopes for.  It will be less stressful for me to leave him with his dad for a couple of hours to get what I need to done.  I am keeping my fingers crossed that this will be the magic bottle!!

I am really loving the Challenge so far.  Meeting awesome ladies that are sharing this journey with me and learning a lot from our inspirational speakers.  It is such a great feeling to be a part of something like this.  I am looking forward to everything along the way!
